DS-3E0526P-E/M product overview
The DS-3E0526P-E/M is an unmanaged 24-port Gigabit PoE switch for surveillance networks that use fiber uplinks. It combines 24 Gigabit PoE ports with two Gigabit SFP uplink ports, providing a straightforward connection point for IP cameras in a rack-based system.
The published total PoE budget is 225 W and each PoE port supports compatible IEEE 802.3af/at devices. Device count must be calculated from the maximum power demand of the actual cameras rather than from port count alone.
Key features
- 24 Gigabit PoE ports for compatible network cameras and powered devices.
- Two Gigabit SFP uplink ports for fiber network connections.
- 225 W total PoE budget with up to 30 W available per PoE port.
- IEEE 802.3af/at support and PoE power management.
- 52 Gbps switching capacity for Gigabit access and uplink traffic.
- 6 kV surge protection and unmanaged plug-and-play operation.
Best-fit applications
This model fits surveillance cabinets in offices, warehouses, retail sites and multi-building systems where up to 24 local PoE camera connections and dual SFP uplinks are part of the network design.
Compatibility and pre-order checks
- Total the maximum camera loads and retain operating margin within the 225 W PoE budget.
- Confirm IEEE 802.3af/at compatibility for every powered device.
- Select SFP transceivers according to fiber type, connector, wavelength, distance and the equipment at the far end.
- Verify whether transceivers and patch leads must be ordered separately; do not assume accessories are included.
- Check rack mounting, ventilation, grounding and whether the project needs managed-network functions.
Frequently asked questions
How does the E/M version differ from DS-3E0526P-E?
The E/M specification uses two Gigabit SFP uplinks and a 225 W PoE budget. The E model uses one Gigabit RJ45 uplink plus one Gigabit SFP uplink and has a different published PoE budget. They should not be treated as interchangeable.
Are SFP modules included?
Do not assume they are included. Confirm package contents with the order and select transceivers that match the required fiber and remote equipment.
How many cameras can the switch power?
Up to 24 devices can connect physically, but the powered-device count is limited by the combined maximum load and the 225 W budget. High-power cameras may reduce the practical total.
