The iDS-2CD7587G2/P-XZHS(Y) is an 8 MP PTRZ dome camera developed for automatic number plate recognition and vehicle-focused monitoring. It combines a 2.8-12 mm motorized varifocal lens with low-light imaging, wide dynamic range and remote framing controls, allowing installers to tune a defined traffic lane or vehicle approach.

ANPR results are highly dependent on installation geometry, plate size in the image, vehicle speed, lighting, regional plate formats and configuration. This model should therefore be selected as part of a designed traffic-monitoring system rather than as a drop-in replacement for a general surveillance camera.

How does the /P model differ from the non-/P version?

The /P version is positioned for number plate recognition and vehicle-oriented functions. Choose it when ANPR is a defined requirement; choose the non-/P model when broader video analytics are the main priority.

Will it recognize every plate format?

No universal result should be assumed. Recognition support varies by country or region, plate format and firmware. Confirm the target plates and test the proposed configuration before rollout.

Which installation factors have the greatest effect on ANPR?

Plate pixel size, horizontal and vertical angle, vehicle speed, shutter and exposure settings, headlight glare and night illumination are all critical. A controlled capture lane normally produces more reliable results than a wide overview scene.
